Chairman’s Message

As we enter 2012, we know that this Presidential election year creates new challenges for the San Bernardino County Republican Party. The newly formed districts and the open primary system can and should drive our efforts in new and innovative directions.

In December 2011, we added Brenda Chabot to our team as Executive Director. This
alone has increased our visibility and presence in San Bernardino County with an
increase in our volunteer base as well as office coverage and community networking.
Her expertise and energy has helped us shift into a higher level of management exposure, necessary to allow our Party to continue to be a force in San Bernardino County.

There is much work to still be done:

  • Voter registration must be our main thrust for January 2012 forward.
  • Precinct Captain Training and voter programs to get out the vote for the primary and general elections in 2012 will be rolled out in February.
  • Fundraising at both the County and Caucus levels are also important to help
support the costs associated with these efforts.
  • Endorsement processing will take on a significant roll with the advent of
Proposition 14, the new open primary system, impacting candidate recruitment projects.

These challenges will bond us together to move San Bernardino County to be a
Republican County again. Now is the time to join us in these efforts. Now is the time to set aside other issues as to not impair our efforts. Now is the time to put our Party first.

I invite every San Bernardino County Republican to ask what you can do to contribute to this effort, and join us.

Robert F Rego
Chairman, San Bernardino County Republican Party
